Cats and Pipes

We noticed a few weeks ago, that when I go to my pipe cabinet and tobacco drawer, that our cat Priss starts mewing. She knows I'm going out on the front porch and runs to the door. She's an inside cat, but we keep a lead out there for her and she loves to sit out there in the sun. We now laugh every time.

While I love dogs, I really bond with cats. I suppose it's the like-minded sense of independence.
I've owned many through the years, but I've never had an animal so devoted to me as Freyja, my Norwegian Forest Cat. Whenever the day comes that we have to part ways, it's gonna hurt like hell.

And totally consistent with the characteristics of her particular breed, she comes in at a svelte 22 pounds.

What would you suggest for a cat with early kidney disease?

The Japanese cat vaccine for kidney disease. I'm not sure when it will be available in the U.S.

I lived in a fourth floor apartment and sometimes swarms of birds would fly by the window. That's the best way to see a sad cat.
