I've had 3 at one point. We adopted one cause the wife wanted to. Then she had a friend getting rid of two, cause of their dog. So she needed to have them too. I didn't like cats at the time. Through the years, they became my cats, and then we ended up moving. Well one cat died from Lyme's disease, and the other two my wife gave away without my permission....how does that even work? I didn't want them to begin with, she needed to have them. She got sick of them, and I fell in love with them. And then she gave them away!!!

Back on topic however. The worst thing about cats, is brushing all the kitty litter off the bed every night....

We keep the cats out of the bedroom in our new house. ?

yeah we have rescued a lot of cats and these are the ones we ended up with. We’ve probably rescued/rehomed around 15 other cats. We’re up to 9 from the most recent kitten we raised on a bottle. Though we’re probably looking to rehome her!

*UPDATE*
It's been three weeks and I've tried "World's Best Cat Litter" unscented (red bag) because that's all I could find at the store. I like it except I don't like the natural smell of it, so I will look for a scented bag. I also will try the 'walnut shell' based litter when I can find it.

For now, I have switched to this and I like it.

I'm done with the clay based litters.

I don't know what the cat litter brand is, but my wife buys it in these large yellow squarish five gallon buckets.
We picked up one of these to put the covered cat box in, to keep the dog out of it. We were worried about it being too dark inside there with a box inside a box, but His Holiness Henry the Pius doesn't seem to mind. It also cuts way down on the smell.

Cosmic, no problem with darkness inside. These little devils are nocturnal hunters and can do just fine with almost no light. I always worry about turning off the lights when I feed the cats at night, then I remember, to them this is just low light, not no light. That's why their eyes light up, extra reflectors in their eyes.

Ours is plastic, but there are folks who sell wood ones. When we bought it, we were thinking that we may have to hose it out occasionally, but without the dog using the catbox as a snack plate, the other catbox inside it stays really tidy.

Nice! Yeah the purple worlds best is the only one that works for us. The unscented ones while they work for clumping etc, just don’t do anything for the odor.

Ugh. You just reminded me of that 4 day period, several years ago, when I was legitimately worried that all 4 of our cats were constipated, because I hadn’t seen very many turds when scooping the box. My wife heard funny noises coming from the cat closet on Day 5, and found the Chihuahua that we’d been dogsitting snacking out of the box. ?
