Welcome from the SF Bay Area! I think it's awesome that you still have that pipe from your days in the service as well as your Grandpa's Falcon. Lots of Falcon lovers here. There are some great retailers that sell Falcon bowls, and there are even Meerschaum options, so you can have a lot of different pipes all-in-one. One of the greatest joys of smoking a pipe for me is exploring all the wonderful tobaccos that are out there. So if you have an open mind, and a somewhat open wallet, the world is your oyster. It's fun as hell.

Welcome aboard from an old minesweeper radioman from an ancient war. Sir Walter Raleigh Aromatic is one of my favorites, though I have many premium blends on hand too. Some have posted photos of stables of Falcon pipes and bowls, so you have plenty of company there.

Welcome aboard! I auditioned for the Marine Corps! Apparently the ability to do a pas de chat into a barrel roll, grand jetés, grand jetés, switch leap followed by a Firebird leap and jazz hands not so important to the Marines. In fact, it inspires some gunnery sergeants to kick your ass no matter how much you scream "I'm a patriot can it!" while you change out of your dance shoes.

Welcome to the forum...you'll find a wealth of helpful info here, as well as plenty of amusing nonsense.

I was relieved to see this thread was just a newer smoker looking for info. When I saw the headline I thought maybe the looming tobacco apocalypse had made Kevin decide to turn the place into a dating site.

Do you like English blends? Virginias? You probably don’t even know. I can send you some samples, such as Stonehaven and Penzance. If you don’t know what they are, look them up. They are some of the hardest blends to find in the tobacco world, but since you have served our beautiful country, and also because you’re a fellow pipe smoker, I would love to send you some. Send me a message if you feel up to it. Cheers, and welcome to the forum!

Wow! Thank you so much! I will definitely take you up on that offer and send you a message.

Doooood, awesome! I like the Falcon and the significance of it as well. That bowl is something I can really appreciate. I enjoy Falcons and other metal pipes quite a bit too, and have become particularly attached to my Kirsten's and H.Wiebe. Nice to have you joining up here.

Welcome from Western Canada! Nice to see you have a connection to your Great Grandfather’s pipe. It’s a great looking pipe. I’m making a trip to Seattle this summer and am thinking of getting a Kirsten while there.
