Have both in smaller pipes and more generous sizes. I prefer the break-in of the briar and the generally larger bits on the castellos. Both in terms of looks can be elegant and both can be workman-like, though i think the dunhill tends to appear more posh, but take a peek at the castello perla neras. Both are made to smoke well. :puffy:

Why not get both ?
Hurrah! Spoken like a true Shame on you!
No brand chauvinism for me in this arena ... it'd be strictly pipe vs. pipe. I like both.

This is sad. I have one estate Castello, and one estate Dunhill: a Sea Rock and a Shell, respectively. Neither one really does it for me, but HH Latakia Flake in the Shell is great. But I know a lot of people who have Castellos and love them. I don't know anybody that has a Dunhill.

ha ha well I got an estate Castello that smokes great. I love that open draw but it is a tad heavy for me. I saw a Castello
I loved at another local B&M but didn't want to spend the money as I can get 4 for the same price from the likes of Il Ceppo, Mimmo Provenzano, Ascorti, Amorelli, etc.
Also I ended up getting a pipe from Mimmo Provenzano which smokes great. Plus I had Zack make me a pipe and Adam will be working on one in a couple months. :puffy:
