I just opened a tin of Kendal Cream Flake and the tin looks to be half empty. Maybe I have opened tins that were packed this way before and just don't remember it but it looks like someone took half my flakes. Is this common?

Flakes being more dense, always weigh more than you might think. If the product weighs 50 grams, you got what you paid for.

I assumed that to be the case but it just looked odd. I was excited to see a little bloom on the flakes.

If you smoke twice as slow, then that tin will last you the same amount of time as a normal tin.

Oh, man did that picture make me chuckle after reading the thread title. I needed that.
First glance tells me it's missing a row, but then again SG is usually so darn wet that perhaps it weighs the same as other tins with twice the baccy.

Good to know! But man does it look strange.
I think the round tins will disappear over time in part due to treatises that various government agencies insist upon; the need more real estate for the dire warnings.
