Is it just me or does carving carbon cake in the bowl just give you that 'Oh yeah" factor and having that great feeling of all the hard work you have been doing to build up some good carbon - no thicker than a dime's thickness please - trim that cake folks - haha bdw

Horror show - not mine - but just give me a sharp blade and I will make some room in that bowl for......tobacco :LOL:

I have an old Buck knife with a rounded, dull blade that's perfect for carving away cake. I mainly use it on my meers when I notice they're building cake. The shape of the blade helps ensure that I don't gouge into the meerschaum. I'll use it on my briars when I notice they're getting more cake than I like, but nothing ever close to that picture above. LOL
