Greetings,

I'm looking for a simple, cheap carry case for traveling with a couple of pipes plus an accessory like a pipe tool. Checked out SmokingPipes and Cup of Joes, but they don't seem to have this, or if they do, they don't indicate this. Any suggestions where I could go for this modest item? Thanks.

For startes, and simplicity sake, I suggest an inexpensive shaving kit from someplace like Walmart,

nylon with a zipper and maybe a zippered compartment. This will do for several pipes, ziplocks of

two or three tobaccos, pipe cleaners, and a pipe tool and lighter/matches. I confess, my wife bought

me a beautiful Savenelli leather churchwarden leather case which holds the churchwarden and one or

two other pipes, and it is great, but it's not something I would have bought for myself. It is an

extraordinary gift. But for the car, camping, hiking, fishing, knocking around, the shaving kit is a

good utilitarian case. Now I use both, depending on the situation.

roth, the only trouble with a pistol case (and it is a terrific idea for carrying the pipes protected, especially

expensive pipes) the only trouble is, it could attract gun crazy folks who can smell a pistol case (and

in their imagination the Glocks and Kimbers inside) three miles away. I guess as long as you keep it out

of sight, you're okay. Whereas, no one is going to break a car window over a shaving kit, unless they

are addicted to sniffing deodorant.

You can get camera cases that are the same size as the pistol case. Or a generic case with no logo.

Possibly try looking at one of the cheap small poker sets.

We can end this thread; I found the desired case at Carey's Smokeshop, along with a few other useful items. Thanks anyway, though!

I do a lot of business travel and I use the soft cases from the amenity kits they give out in business class. Has lots of pockets, it's works, and you know what they say "if it's free...it's for me"

I know the thread has run its course, but I like dochudson's idea with the Maxpedition and have put in list to order.
I also use an old Peterman leather shaving kit.
Funny thing about the fold up, leather kit with wraparound belt. If you fill it with shaving stuff and then added the things Peterman mentioned: "those girl friend unmentionables," you could not only not fold it over, but latching it down was a biach.
The Peterman works okay for some baggies of baccy, pipe cleaners and a pipe or two. It is rugged. I'll give Peterman that. It holds up, but it just won't hold much.

I found this nifty little case at http://www.eacarey.com/7890.html Does the minimum job at the right price for the occasional road trip. Nothing huge, just enough to hold a couple of pipes and the basic accessories.
