Crazy there is still some available, I thought this stuff sells out within minutes! I could have filled up my cart a little more...
The production numbers have been climbing with each new release. This one is up to 20k.Still some this morning. I ordered some without issue.
How many tins were produced in the past releases? The production numbers have been climbing with each new release. This one is up to 20k.
Not really SMALL batch anymore; or is it still ?The production numbers have been climbing with each new release. This one is up to 20k.

Also Nova pipes and tobacco will have it after the 27th, I’m gonna grab a couple from them, along with some more gold blockIs it just me or did a bunch of online retailers not get the drop this time? Maybe I’ve just been out of the buying game for awhile. I see SP still has a ton and got my 15 but a lot of other retailers don’t show it at all let alone marked as “sold out”.
Edit never mind i see other places are doing their drops tomorrow.
I’ve visited the C/D factory and however there is some modern methods but still a very lot of unbaling, laying out, cooking, blending and tinning and sealing is done by handI don’t have a lot of perspective hereI have zero perspective, but some quick arithmetic gave me 20,000 tins = 2500 pounds of tobacco. To me, this seems small for a manufacturer like C&D. Though, again, I have literally no experience manufacturing tobacco. I’d be interested to see if any forum members have more insight into what constitutes “regular” sized batch of pipe tobacco for a commercial manufacturer.
Neither do I, that's why I wonder.I don’t have a lot of perspective hereI have zero perspective, but some quick arithmetic gave me 20,000 tins = 2500 pounds of tobacco. Apparently I live on the wrong continent.I’ve visited the C/D factory and however there is some modern methods but still a very lot of unbaling, laying out, cooking, blending and tinning and sealing is done by hand
For Mac baren it was at least 500 kg from what P. Jensen said (that's 10,000 50 g tins). So a small batch is not that small, it should be called limited edition or 2025 vintage CRF.Neither do I, that's why I wonder.
So maybe not so “small” batch after all! I would be hard pressed to get 2500 pounds of tobacco processed, let alone processed into something that is beloved and sought-after.I’ve visited the C/D factory and however there is some modern methods but still a very lot of unbaling, laying out, cooking, blending and tinning and sealing is done by hand
It was a simple but experience, speaking with Jeremy and the others that work for LDGApparently I live on the wrong continent.
For sure, I will say they have there process down to a T, but it makes me think a bit differently each time I not only smoke a bowl but see local farmers that I see working day in and out to get there tobacco in these days, some of NC tobacco winds up at C&DSo maybe not so “small” batch after all! I would be hard pressed to get 2500 pounds of tobacco processed, let alone processed into something that is beloved and sought-after.
Wise call. Prices are not going down.Mound of tins going up, bank account going down.
I’m on a smoking hiatus. Just haven’t had the desire so I’m taking a break. That said I still bought some. Almost any limited Virginia I’m going to put up.
