I clean my logging boots every Saturday night, generally with saddle soap ( Fiebing's for preference, Kiwi is awful stuff.), but occasionally I'll use lexol when they're extremely dirty. Of course I do this on my porch, puffing away as I go. Well, I managed to get some Lexol on my hand, and when I grabbed my pipe to tamp it got on the bowl and stripped the wax right off.
So if you ever use this stuff, be very careful where you get it.

Thanks for the warning Sean. I use Fiebing's Glycerine saddle soap in bar form on all my boots & leathers. Haven't used any Lexol in a long time. Good to know, though.

I use saddle soap on my leather working projects to seal the ends. Thanks for the tip, ill have to put down the pipe when I am around that stuff.
