I googled it, evidently clicking hyper links too fast can also trigger it.Just browsing as I always do. Then I get redirected, and as soon as I fill out the Captcha and get through, the next thing I click on redirects me all over again. Pretty irritating.
Plugins for your browser.Does Google tell you how to make it stop?
OK. I'm going to bed. Goodnight internet.Plugins for your browser.
Seems like every second page I click on at smokingpipes.com has me picking through 10 to 15 pictures of dolphins and pandas, even when I'm logged in. Anyone else experiencing this? Annoying as hell. I sent them an email.
Now a quote from the late great @cigrmaster:
Is this Karma because Harris passed away recently or what??
Thanks for the response! I did email customer service and they said they'd pass it on to the "IT tech team and have them take a look at it." As of tonight it's still happening. I go to the site, log in, click on the bulk tobacco tab and get redirected. I'm getting redirected to a Captcha about every second or third time I click on a tobacco, whether or not I'm logged in, and whether or not I complete the Captcha. It wasn't happening the last time I was browsing pipes for the record, just tobaccos. Also for the record, I am not a bot...BELIEVE ME! If I am a bot...I'm a bot with a credit card, which gets used often on your site. I'm also a bot with a mailing address.Could you email us directly (to the info@ account and they'll get you connected to the right folks here)? There's a long, possibly complicated story here, but basically if you're a human you shouldn't be seeing these.
We know that these tools are ridiculously blunt, but we thought they weren't coming up much following our recent round of changes. There are some situations where they might still appear (like if you live in a house full of pipe smokers who are all browsing SP from the same IP address).
If you're talking about an issue from a couple of weeks ago, we turned that s**t off. It didn't work. It also thought I was a bot.
This, of course, assumes you're a human...if you're secretly a bot, I have some pictures of dolphins and traffic lights for you. They're good for hours of fun.
The general interest part of this is that like a lot of ecommerce sites, the amount of automated traffic of late is staggering, and it's become increasingly difficult to differentiate automated from not-automated traffic.
Sykes
Ok, so I'm not the only one. Thanks.I was on there the other and I had logged in and I had to go through 6 iterations of selecting matching patterns on tiles. It was pretty annoying.
But I understand the need to manage the automated traffic.
I rarely go to vendor sites these days, as I have no need to buy anything else, other than maybe pipe cleaners. I’ve got about a 4-5 year supply of those.
Seems like IT at SP must have recalibrated their Captcha. I'm not being redirected anymore.
