By Captain Black regular I assume its the white package.

CBW is my go to tobacco on a regular basis but it seems to taste best when smoked in a corn cob. My briar's are good to but the cob seems to work well with the Captain.

Captain Black regular was the second tobacco I have smoked, the first being serendipity. I found it to be similar to the first in flavor although I didn't experiment with serendipity too much and I'm a newb so my taste testing skills might be a tad off.

For me it was not to much of a brow raiser because I felt as if it didn't effect my palate too much.

The Dunhill 965 that I just received on the other hand is very flavorful but it still lacks the sweetness that I know so well from the CB.

Waznyf, that's like saying "this steak doesn't have the same sweetness as a Twinkie." 965 and Captain Black are about as far apart in flavor, character and quality as you can get.

I recently tried CBW expecting it to be absolutely foul because of a lot of negative reviews but was pleasantly surprised by it (i can hardly claim any refinement to my tobacco tastes though given my limited experience). I enjoyed the taste and it burned well, plus the aroma was enchanting. I even had a lady come up and say she was going to complain until she actually caught a whiff of my pipe instead of my friend's Camel Menthol.
