Evening friends, I just got a pouch of CB Cherry I ordered from P&C. Im happy with what I ordered,(1Q,H&H Anni Kake,) except for this. Im a Big fan of the Capt, and just about all the blends, except this. I lit up a bowl, smoked half of it, and that was all I could stand. It has a very powerful pouch note, and it left an after taste like I had perfume in my mouth. Anyway, to each his own. Ill stay away from this one. All other CB's are good to go with me. Actually about to blend some CBD (dark) and my new 1Q. Should be good. Later folks. God Bless.. MC

Well, I highly recommend for you fans of Lane Ltd, mixing a half/half of 1Q and CBDark. Very good. Slow burning. Cool. I like it. As for the CB cherry, Im not a fan. I like Middletons cherry a lot, but this one(CBcherr) is whole different ballgame. Way too perfumey. Smells almost like a potpourri thing. Thumbs up on the H&H Anni Kake. My first tin, and its great! Just for your FYI Lane makes Captain Black. In fact, IIRC, 1Q is CB Royal with all the humectants added for shelf life. If you research the forums here you will find all the equivalents. RLP-6, BCA and others made by Lane all equate to one of the CB's, IIRC. The advantage of buying them in the Lane Bulks is they are not so wet and can be bought in varying quantities vs a pouch or tub.

Also, if you want a good cherry. CAO Cherrybomb, MB Cherry Ambrosia, MB 7 Seas Red are some other popular cherry blends that are in very different directions from CB Cherry. There have been positive talk of some of the MC cherry blends but I have not tried any of those yet. Sutliff Private Stock has a couple of cherryish blends that are pretty good as well.

I like the Captain blends, but have no desire to try CB Cherry. I have a sack of Hobbit's Weed and Strawberry Fields from Tewksbury & Co. The smell hooked me (Cherry for Hobbit's Weed and Strawberry for Strawberry Field), the smoke itself is not for me though. Better as tobacco-looking potpourri.

I am not sure what you are getting at. Nothing I posted was at all in any way but meant to be helpful to you. I would think if you are actually a Marine you would have some thicker skin. I was trying to help you. Forgive me for sharing some information on a public forum for that very purpose. Member status means nothing on this forum other then the amount of time someone has been a member. I have been a member a long time and have a very low thread count as "you can see." I mostly read and try to learn. I saw that you had made a few posts and no one else had taken the time to give you a response. So I thought I would. Again, forgive me.

Oh and quoting bible versus may make you feel better about yourself while you are talking down your nose at someone, but does nothing but make you look like you feel you are above reproach. OK so I have read, reread and triple read eagles response and cannot for the life of me see how it could be taken as anything but helpful. Marine, not sure if you you were having a bad night that night and read something into it that wasn't there but I think an apology is in order.

CB Cherry is the worst tobacco I ever bought. Threw it in the trash, tastes like you're smoking a cherry Chapstick. The taste actually gets caught in the back of your throat as well as ghosts your pipe.

Anyone ever tried mc clintock black cherry tin rather than bulk - my tin tasted horrible vile - may have been bad - tin aroma not like cherry

Lane Limited also does a solid cherry aromatic called Very Cherry. I've only seen it on Cup O Joes site. Pretty affordable, I think somewhere around $30/lb.

While I did think the OP got outta line a little towards Eagle, I do agree on the CB Cherry. It is terrible! I bought one pouch of it years ago and didn't even smoke half of it! I keep it in the sun visor of my truck to remind me never to buy junk tobacco again! I did try some Lane Verry Cherry one time and found it to be pretty good. And yes, I know the Captain is a Lane product, but these two are nothing alike IMO.

When I noticed the word "hobbit" mentioned by "cmdrm". I am curious to know where I can find the "hobbit weed" blend?
Regardless of how deeply I tried to ignore the comment made by marine towards eagle. I could not resist, and have to point out that religion has sneaked again---cloaking as an instigator. Eagle has been attacked in the forum by what seems to be an intolerant christian attempting to use the book of "praises". :laughat:
