Great Review. This blend was my favorite for a while, now probably in second place. The surprising thing about this blend is that there is a complexity despite being so heavily Latakia forward. The smokiness is subdued compared to similar blends and I completely agree with Bob when he speaks of moss and leaves. When I smoke this blend I am taken instantly to a pine forest where I smell the damp forest floor and the moss on every rock. Half way through a bowl there is a pronounced flavor change with the Virginia coming through and becoming almost equal with the spice tobaccos. I detect the sour/sweet of tangerine. Nearing the last third of the bowl there is a very pleasant Cabernet taste which continues till the end.
This is a blend whose complexity stems from it's ability to change over the life of the bowl. Each new flavor mixes with the last, building layer upon layer till the at the end of the bowl you know "this is a fantastic BLEND".

All of the Captain Earle's blends are great, but this one is my favorite.
