This happened to some GL Pease Flake that I had in glass Ball jars. The best you can do is to toss it out.I immediately opened my other, untainted jars and allowed the flakes to air out for half a day.The tobacco was quite moist to start with, and in my absence, the room got a little bit warmer than it should have, and there you have it........mold.My bad.So........Lower the thermostat, air out the tobacco a bit, keep out of direct sunlight, and in a sealed glass container.

Thank you for all the replies!
I stored the tobacco inside of its original tin which was placed inside of the plastic container(food grade), the reason why it is plastic is due to fact that these ball top glass jars (we don't even have the same ones as in the states) are really expensive here and sometimes hard to find, so for relative short term storage and until I have enough glass jars I placed them in the food grade plastic container. I guess maybe during summer temperatures were high enough to support the growth or the germination of the fungus spores even though the cabinet is quite cool compared to the rest of the house. Well, I learned my lesson and will keep an eye on my other jars. Just curious that these super wet thick flakes of Samuel Gawith did not get fungus all over them but these delicate, relatively dry flakes did.

"Airing out" your stash could be a bad move, especially since you'd just opened a jar full of mold spores, so there were plenty of them floating around the room.

Anytime you expose tobacco to air you get a chance for mold. Store in plastic and that chance greatly increases. Plastic is NOT good at preventing air and moisture from moving in and out.
