So according to The Country Squire email today they now have Mac Baren tins in stock blended by STG, with new label designs. And the flake appears to be in a square tin--at least going by the photo.

EDIT: This doesn't mean they have moved these blends over to the Assens factory yet. It could just be they are "proudly blending" them because they own it now. So unclear still.

Recently fell in love with Capstan Blue. Apparently it’s sold out everywhere… which is annoying. So does anyone know of a blend that’s similar that can scratch that itch?

Pipes & Cigars just got it back in stock. Jump on some before it sells out again.

Ah, but to the OP: with a lot of my favorite straight VAs getting the axe of late, I think your best bet would be C&D Opening Night.

It is one of my favorite tobaccos, blue/gold. I was fortunate enough to be able to buy a good amount at my local tobacconist when the price was surprisingly affordable. I remember the price was euros 6.30 for 50-gram tins of flake cut. I think it was in 2020. I used to buy up to 50 tins at a time. It was fantastic to be able to buy fresh tobacco. For a rookie like me, who started in the final years of tobacco's decline here in Spain.
