I got this scoop this morning and have been waiting for responses from the companies, but no one has returned calls yet, and I decided not to hold up the news any longer.

That's a downer,, Haven't had the chance to try their tobacco and now they might be gone. Hopefully General Cigar will be distributing the pipe tobaccos and not change them.

Geez, I knew something would happen. I did not place any preorders as I don't want to get rehooked on any of the blends until they could show us they could supply us.

According to my source, the Dunhill pipe tobacco ETA is at the end of November. I know CAO and Arango Cigar Co. will be distributing it. I'm not sure what the other distributors are doing. FYI...Deluxe Navy Rolls, Royal Yacht, Standard Mix, Early Morning, 965, Nightcap, London Mixture, Standard Mix Mellow, Flake should be available.

BTW...Arango recently acquired XYZ Direct. Cheers!

Thanks for the info joshcigars!
I actually heard rumors of the other news on Arango buying XYZ before it was to be made public and forgot to follow up on it now.
Thanks for the reminder!

Color me dense - short of the international shipping cost, could you not order these over seas and have them shipped? And if they won't ship, I am sure you could set something up with a friend. Or is it a product that US customs doesnt let over?

Nice pic Kevin.
Thanks Larry. I had fun doing that. I always strive to have good photos with all of our articles. I was banging my head for 45 minutes trying to come up with something good and then it hit me.
I kept screwing up the placement of the tins. It just didn't look right, but then I drew a question mark right on the floor and laid them out.
I also Photoshopped out all the obnoxious warnings from the tins.

Sorry, I'm totally confused - is it just the Dunhill line of tobaccos that may not make it or is CAO also at stake?

You won't believe it, but when it occurred to me that the layout wouldn't be all that easy, I imagined the same solution. LOL
Pix like that are the touches that really dress-up an article, even if it is only news copy.

I'm not the only one who noticed, either. Simon acknowledged it in the blog comments.

This is thoroughly disturbing news. I was looking forward to some of those blends like My Mixture 965, Nightcap, De Luxe Navy Rolls and the return of Elizabethan Mixture. I hope it gets cleared up soon.

I knew Simon would notice, and I saw his comment.

Welcome to the club onizuka.
I have found a pattern that the "cigar guys" think they are too cool for school, or at least feel the pipe market is sooo small that it's the last thing on their list to worry about ...
CAO and General Cigar highly disappointed me that they didn't take my phone calls or answer emails today, but I bet you $100 if the email came from my old cigar site, they would have.

Over here in the German speaking part distribution of Dunhill tobaccos has been strange too, but it seemed as it has all been sorted out. Will it all be affected again?
