@ Barry H:

" ....watch the weekly TV show 'Match Of The Day' for Premier League shenanigans"

Is it on Sky sports? And is that the exact name, word for word? I've tried to find it, even spoofing that I was in the UK. Or might you have a link to it?

Yes, exact name. It's broadcast Saturday evenings and produced by the BBC so won't be available on Sky. The BBC have an app called iPlayer where programmes are available after being broadcast. IPlayer requires that users have a TV licence though. Don't know whether there's a possible workaround. Sorry!

Despite the white shirt, spurs fans are labelled by many more ‘colourful’ words but you’re correct, in the UK ‘supporter’ is the most traditional.

Welcome from Hereford!
Last time I was in Oldham, i visited a good little tobacconist.
Somewhere by the market if it’s still there.
Hey Simon,
Not sure whether it's still there TBH. I try to avoid Oldham Town centre if at all possible. Good candidate for inclusion in 'Cr*p Towns' (sister book to 'Cr*p Cars' on Amazon) if not in there already. To be fair, it's not as bad as it once was and much effort and money has been spent over the last few years. Still a clone of (almost) all town centres with the same ubiquitous shops. Forty years ago there were a couple of traditional tobacconists now long gone.

Can recommend a visit to My Smoking Shop in Preston if you're ever in that neck of the woods. The place is phenomenal - and bigger than it looks on Google!

Hello and welcome from New Jersey.
Thanks. You lucky boy. Visited NJ not long after 9/11 - Old Bridge and environs, Freehold, Wildwood, Cape May. Was my first visit to the US (long story) and fell in love with place. I couldn't get over how much space the average household enjoys, compared to UK towns where there's no room to swing a cat! Grass is always greener and all that...
