Be careful with Quinolones. Some people develop allergic reactions to them after prolong usage. I used to take one of the Quinolone family antibiotics for sinus infection, and ended up in the E/R, looking like the Michelin Tire Man. I had ignored the warning signs of anaphylaxis, so just a heads up.

I agree, though, that you need a topical antibiotic.

You need to see an ophthalmologist.. Primary care doctors don't have a clue. I think you're way past over the counter remedies. Be careful how long you screw around with this.

I don't know if an animal model has any bearing on human conjunctivitis but a big orange cat of mine had that because of feline immune deficiency virus almost certainly from getting bitten by another cat. He was a big old boy who looked like a cougar and never showed any signs of being bitten by anything, but the vet said cat teeth are so sharp it could easily not show.

The successful remedy for his eye inflammation was a vet remedy of interferon in his food daily. He was around for a few more years until the FIV presumably caused a kidney problem.

I don't know about interferon use in people, much less for conjunctivitis. But boosting the immune system in some way might address the problem, or be something discussed with a specialist.

I hope your body figures this out in the meantime and you age out of the problem the way we sometimes do.

The only thing I know of is to wash your hands often throughout the day. And if you haven't seen an opthalmologist you should do so.

If conventional medicine with all the antibiotics doesn’t help, try alternative medicine methods. There are a few as homoeopathy, which I would try first (look for a doctor in the classic homoeopathie way- one high potency remedy at the time). Also there is acupuncture or phytotherapy. Besides bath your eye 👁 in sterile Na-Cl solution twice a day.

Your immune system should get rid of that ridiculous infection on its own. You’ve got nothing to loose but a few bucks.

Have you had or have Covid-19? It looks like a form of conjunctivitis can be caused by it.

exactly. My buddy had COVID and got the pinkeye
