Canadian Pipe Repairers

So, just got a Savinelli pipe whose stem's tenon came fractured and subsequently broke when I reinserted it.

Brand new. A real shame. The seller is offering top customer service but with them being in the US, returns are a hassle to say the least; besides, since I assumed the pipe was fine upon first (not so careful) inspection, I removed the bowl coating and that puts the pipe no longer in the brand new, unmodified state.

So, I was thinking maybe the best thing to do is keep the stummel and then have someone craft me a new stem. Anybody knows of any such people in Canada?

Jeff at Jades could do it for you or try Dad's pipes in Ontario. Reborn Pipes is in Vancouver I think? Maybe I'm wrong

Thankee. Yeah, I was gonna bring the pipe to Jeff this coming week to see what he thought, before deciding on whether sending it back or not.

I would try Victory Pipes in Oshawa, Ontario. I'm sure they would be able to connect you to a good pipe repair person.

There's some on the pipesmagazine site as registered repair/refurb shops. You can find this under Pipe Repair and Maintenance. Select the first thread under it titled "Calling All Pipe Restorers" and you will see those that have registered. The site just started so it only has a couple of shops that are located in Canada. When looking people up be sure you understand the difference in some who can repair pipes and those who just restore pipes.

Had two pipes repaired by Dad's Pipes. Speedy service. No issues with the work done. Would use again.

Absolutely. Keeping a pennies-on-the-dollar market absolutley throttled for tax purposes, because pipe makers make SO MUCH MONEY that they have to hide a little here and there. It's important to have a dangerous, fiddly, oddball time-sink side to the business.
