Would I suck on a piece of dried super glue or epoxy? Yeah, I would. But then again, I smoke pipes. YMMV, as the young people say.

Before you begin gluing, stick a cleaner slathered in Vaseline into the mouth-end of the stem.
This prevents accidentally gluing the airway if you've applied too much glue and the excess runs/drips.
If you're worried about getting epoxy or superglue on your lips, just use a rubber/silicone bit.
