Start with mild or less strong blends

In college I smoked Balkan Sobranie. Not produced anymore although there is a new blend with the same name. White Knight is the closest I have experienced.

Well, the idea goes as follows.. No, pipe smoking itself won't cause erectile dysfunction.. But consuming A LOT of high nicotine tobacco before doing your business will stimulate your nervous system, which will tighten your arteries.. So, less blood flow. And that my friend is the arch nemesis of erections..

When I was 18 there WAS NO erectile dysfunction. No PC's, no internet, no smart phones, no "wi-fi", no Blue Tooth, gas was 32 cents a gallon, and you could make a local call for a dime on the rotary-dial wall-mounted pay-phone at the end of the dorm's hall. There were no STD's that couldn't be fixed with a shot or two. No viagra either... or all the rest. Wistful sigh... ::

Eventually pipes will give you a much better erection, and you'll be on the internet looking at pipes instead of girls. So no, you are good. Just may not help you get them undressed. Unless she's turned on my pipes...
And disregard the above advice, if you're interested in English blends, don't start gentle. Dive right in to some heavy latakias, like a good Balkan Sobranie. Always start with the hard stuff, just to be sure.

From what I read, erectile dysfunction caused by cigarettes is mainly about the tar. When inhaled i the lungs it gets more absorbed by the blood and starts clogging smaller blood vessels. Since the penis is full of those small vessels, they are the first to suffer from the clogging. Since the blood then can't get in, it can't get it up .
Now as Ahmad Otman mentioned, a lot of nicotine, makes you nervous that might also, not clog but tighten the arteries and cause the above mentioned dysfunction.
