I just acquired a lot of 13 pipes from eBay and one of the stems has a hole on the underside of the lip. It's still smokable, but it's both irritating in the mouth and to the eye. Anybody know if there's a way I can fix this aside from replacing the stem? Thanks.

OR, if you wanted the redneck version:

Wrap black electrical tape over the hole to seal it, then slide one of those bit protectors over it so you can't tell there is tape on it.

This is just the info I was looking for. Thanks guys. I'm going to scrounge up a broken stem and give this repair a go. This pipe is a surprisingly good smoker (it's a Dr. Grabow freehand) and I'd like it looking its Sunday best.
