I do enjoy wide chamber. It's true that in some instances, edge will not burn at the same speed as the center. But that's easy to manage. Packing a wide chamber with flakes isn't something I enjoy. Takes up too much tobacco. I rub out in that case, but I prefer flakes in a narrow chamber mainly due to the form factor.

Pot lover here. More flavor, easier to keep lit, burns cooler.
If I had to pick one shape, this would be it.

I only have two pipes with a 22mm internal width; I prefer 20mm max width. The (Peterson) Erica House Pipe smokes fine when fully packed but the draw is much greater than I prefer. The BC Calabash has a Dublin shape bowl and I only load it up to about the 20 mm level. The greater width is o.k. but not preferred by me.
