More on the 1038 Barling. It does not have any stamping on the stem other than the crossed Barling logo. See more pics.
In unrestored condition, what do you think it’s worth?

Hello all. Busy day yesterday, and somehow I missed seeing this thread.

So first thing I'm going to tell you is that this is not a pipe you want to sell. This is a pipe that you want to keep. These small and medium sized Barling pots are among the very best smoking machines I have experienced. I have accumulated a nice little pile of them. Blends sing in them.

If you are determined to sell it in its current state, in this market, somewhere slightly north of $120. I've seen them go for less than $100 and I've seen them go for more than $150. But the "more"s were cleaned up.

Personally, I'd clean it up. Pack it, fire it up, and enjoy a great smoke.

That would be my guesstimate as well, though that particular "BARLING'S MAKE" stamp also shows up in the 1950's.

Jesse, thanks so much for the information. I was not selling this one, I was more than interested in keeping it. I just needed the best opinion of its age and value as I am working on the trade now.
I have been searching for a grand old Barling and it seems I found it.
