I had an original gourd Calabash of very good quality that I smoked for years that I gifted to a fellow on one of the forums I was on because he was always doing nice things for the members by sending them different tobacco's from his country and I wanted to do something for his generosity so I sent him that Calabash and some other things.
I picked up this briar body Calabash with briar bowl capped with Masur Birch made by Maigurs Knets, it is packed with a tobacco blended by a friend and I call it Cracker Jack.
If you were a kid growing up in the 50's Cracker Jack was a great snack, caramel like topping on pop corn gave you the sweetness countered by the saltiness and crunch from the peanuts. Well this tobacco doesn't have pop corn, peanuts, caramel or salt it does have a citrus presence on the palate on the intake but there on the edges of the palate one gets that terrific peppery adventure that only Perique can give and I love Perique. Definitely enjoying this smoke and keeping it smokey!
