I used to hate record collectors. People who bought rare albums not out of love but as investments. Until I found out that most of the obscure music I like wouldn't make any money if only people who wanted to listen to albums bought them. Then I realized they're part of the market eco system that allows me to enjoy the things I enjoy. I bet people with deep cellars that are never going to be smoked because no one is going to live for 300 years are a significant part of why we can afford to buy tins we're going to smoke. Kind of like how alcoholics help the alcohol industry stay profitable.
The thing I hate about bourbon and scotch pricing is one month you get a bottle or 2 for $40-$70+ and a month later they want $1200-$2500 for it. Then the distillery purposely makes less barrels so the price will hold. I can't blame someone for wanting to make a buck, but now insulin is $700 a vile so sometimes they're just plain greedy.
