I'm enjoying a bowl of Cornell & Diehl's Big 'n Burley, which Smokingpipes.com describes as follows:

Components: Burley Latakia Orientals Perique Family: English

Cut: Ribbon

Primarily sweet, rough cut Burley seasoned with small amounts of Latakia, Turkish, and a dash of Perique for added flavor. A light English for Burley lovers.
Yep, this is full strength, so go slow, but especially as you get into the bowl and a relight, it is an elegant blend, better than just big. In terms of bite, I find

it gentler than many an aromatic. It may be an acquired taste, but if you like burley, acquiring the taste won't take long.

Big 'n Burley is one of my favorites, and I enjoy a bowl of it several times each week. Definitely a burley-forward blend, but all the individual components chime in throughout the smoke. The first and only time I ever got an overwhelming nic hit was with this blend, so I would advise having it after a meal, and not before!

Counter intuitive though it may be, I find smoking the thundering robust blends sometimes sends me back to milder blends and even good aromatics with a newly honed taste sense. You'd think full strength blends would harden your taste buds and put you in a nicotine box, but in my case, it doesn't seem to work that way. I can go back to a subtle Virginia, and it's a whole new day.

I've smoked a couple of tins and I never got any Lat from it whatsoever. What did the do just wave a leaf of lat over the bin when mixing the components?

mustang, they do say "small amounts" on the Latakia. I agree, I don't pick up on the Lat taste at all, but I really enjoy it anyway. I was surprised to see Lat mentioned.

Well, regardless I like it and will have to pickup some more tins next time out.

Thanks to snagstangl I have a sample of Big 'n Burley. (as well as an assortment of other burley blends) I'm taking mso489's advice to heart about going slow with this one since its amazing "N power" just about knocked me over when I lit up a few minutes ago! I've mostly been smoking balkans for the past year, so this opens up a whole new experiance for me. Never had anything quite like it.
