I'm a newbie , I started with buying “match” blends of what I remember way back in the 1960’s.
They were: Edgeworth Reday rubbed, House of Windsor “Field and Stream” Mixture 79. The latest is Three Friars but no toasty room note to match .
All were close but taste tapered off.
Am I better to stay with brand tins than waste my time with “matches” ?
And how does P&C know what portions of each they add unless they have the original receipe?
Perhaps there is a post in this section already explains that.
Im really liking W/O Larsen’s Old Fashioned , Signature and by chance bought Amphora’s “Ambrosia” years ago in Seattle. Loved it, have the empty tin And the lingering room note memory only. Tried tin of Holger Danke’s “Back and Bourbon” quite wet in anticipation of a eureka match!
