I have two Byford pipes, both estates and from different sources. Both have the complicated looking aluminium tube internals and both are excellent smokers. The first is an apple that has what looks like two stylized castles or possibly shields beneath the scripted 'Byford's'. On the other side is 'Made In England'.
The second is a 190 billiard with 'Made In England' beneath the scripted 'Byford's'. Alas this was in such a sorry state I felt compelled to rusticate it.
I would be very interested to hear if anyone knows whose factory these pipes came from and what age they might be. Pipedia tells me they were made by Orlik, is this true?
Byford's apple before...
Byford's apple after...
Byford's billiard before...
Byford's billiard after...
Regards,
Jay.
