I'm edging closer to buying more pipes in support of the as yet latent habit of pipe smoking. I just love pipes, even when I'm not smoking them. Admittedly, I'm a little crazy; pipe crazy, that is.

Pipe Acquisition Disorder doesn't strike until the 65th pipe, then watch out.
To each their own. Buying pipes and not smoking them would be like paying a hooker to play checkers IMHO.
Salt, not again. If you must buy group 4-5 sized in the 40-55 gram range. Nothing shorter than 5", has to be a nice sandblast with a great Ebonite stem. Buy only traditional shaped pipes, nothing crazy. Get ready to sell them to me for half price. I know you can do it.
I'll also put in a request for a couple of Tom Eltang's I have my eye on. Anything Arne Jacobsen, but lean toward a smooth if you can.
Oh, and please stock up on lots of Haddo's. The 16oz tins are fine.

Great analogy. Objects ought be used for their intended purpose else they cease to be the objects of our intention.
But who other than I should replace Trevor Barton? Somebody's got to do it. But if I did I'd collect Castello, Ashton, Eltang and Michael Parks; none of that international frou-frou that got Barton's attention.
