I've not tried a pipe lighter yet, but I have been using a Djeep which is pretty nice. It's like a Bic, but a better quality build.

Though seeing those lighters with the tamper/poker/knife stuff on it - Incredibly tempting 8O

I've only been using mine a few days. It's not as tall as a BIC, but much wider and seems as though it holds a good bit more fluid. The thing I like about it most is that it's got plenty of thumb room, and just feels incredibly sturdy.

does BIC, or any other brand for that matter, make any lighters anymore that are not 'child-proof'? meaning you don't have to turn the spark wheel and then hit the gas. you just press down on the button and it lights, much like the pipe lighters. i have two pipe lighters but they seem to be empty at the same time.

Actually, my favorite thing about the Zippo is that "MADE IN U.S.A." stamping on the bottom of the case.

I'm still not having much luck. I filled up the other day and by this afternoon(about 3-4 smokes) it's empty again. I think I have a $45 paper weight and will go back to my Zippo Pipe lighter or matches.

I received my Colibri Butane Fuel - 5X REFINED today. It made all the difference in the world in my Xikar Pipeline. I have a much better flame now. :D

I only use Vector butane it is refined 5 times and it has never given me a problem.I would try purging the lighter and refilling it.That doesn't seem like many lights at all and I thought Xikar was supposed to make pretty decent lighters.I use a Corona Old Boy myself and it has been great.

I used to use Ronson butane, and had mixed results with it. I have since switched to Xikar Purofine butane, and it works much better. I got an 8oz can for under $10 at my local B&M, not a bad deal. No more cheap butane for me!

I tried that a couple times. The instructions say to fill for five seconds. I did that and then waited a few more seconds and did it again for three seconds. I'm wondering if I shouldn't just refill until it starts spewing back like my old Ronson use to do.
