I think the authorities feel pretty helpless.
If jail, destroying your family, and amphetamine-induced schizophrenia aren't enough to convince people to stop... Then what are you gonna do?

anhydrous amona is a cancer causing substance and I cannot speak for all states in Indiana you have to have a licens to use it for farm applactions I do not know whats involved in geting the licens.

That's irrelevant. Tobacco is cancer causing too. You said that it was more cancer causing than second hand smoke. Show evidence that it is more cancer causing than second hand smoke to people who aren't directly handling the ingredient in the amount that is put into the environment from meth labs. Until then you are making claims that are meaningless because you aren't backing them up. Hell, even if you do back it up it's meaningless. No one is saying they're all for meth labs using dangerous substances or even for the labs existing at all.

If it's illegal to carry out your plan, this too is irellevant. It makes no sense to claim those who are anti-smoking should stop with their cause because there are other evils in the world, when you can't even offer a viable solution.
Can I not have any cause when there are worse things in the world to worry about? "Hey, stop complaining that the garbage men are leaving your garbage can in front of someone else's house, there's people being tortured in Africa."

Basically you have untrained idiots doing bench top organic chemistry with some very volatile, flammable, and likely carcinogenic chemicals in a very reckless manner. Since proper ventilation is dubious build up of volatile vapors is inevitable. If these idiots are dumb enough to use anything other than a heating mantle or sand bath to carefully heat, the "lab" will blow up! Trained chemists work with similar materials with great care. One of the chemicals I believe is dim ethyl ether. I recall hearing about an incidence where a bottle of ether exploded in a lab fridge (due to peroxide build up) and blew the door of the refrigerator through a brick wall

I knew such places were dangerous, but I had no idea.
Thanks for the insight, Professor.

On a semi-related, and more entertaining note:
There's a series called "Breaking Bad" where a chemistry teacher finds himself in the crystal meth business. It's quite different and I fell in love with it when I saw the first couple episodes.
The actor who plays the father in "Malcom in the Middle" plays the chemistry teacher. :puffy:

I have seen a few episodes of breaking bad, its alright. As for the meth labs, I believe one of my neighbors is making meth in his house. I havnt seen him or his wife go to work or anywhere in 3 months. I don't even know how there eating no one leaves to buy groceries.

I gotta disagree with xray about the meth problem. I have been a cop almost 20 years. The demand is great. Not only do you probably have a lab in your neighborhood you also have lots of people driving down the road shaking and baking. Crack is bad...Meth is a monster.
