Thanks. They flew under my radar and I didn't even notice them until I started looking at tobacco last month
It isn’t for everyone because of the difficulty in using and it certainly lacks nuance - but if you enjoy a full flavor - the type you would get with a Texas smoked Brisket or KC ribs without the sauce, then this is for you.

Bringing full flavor to a tobacco blend - just simple down and dirty flavor - is what Gawith does best.

It isn't for everyone - that's why we have C&D with all their limited releases full of cinnamon, sugar, spice, and honey. G&H and SG plugs, flakes, and ropes are primarily for working men who don't give a shit because they still haven't wiped the shit of their shoes tracked in from the factory floor. For many of you, this tobacco will make you sick, want to vomit, and nauseated for the rest of the day. It will turn your stomach. and make you want to vomit. So... don't order it. You've been warned. It's got lots of yellow, ugly, sticky looking tallow, fat, and what appears to be burnt cow tendons running the full length of the tattered, torn, and twisted gnarly looking plugs. Very unappetizing. Now excuse me while I order another 8 oz.
bought 2 pounds this week =]
Love G&H

Bought a pound of Full Va Flake B.E. from Smoking Pipes and am back on the email alert list. I dream of St. James Flake B.E. but like they say, wish in one hand and shit in the other...

I was looking at all the burnt end offerings about a month ago with suspicion. I was saying to myself some one screwed a couple of batches up at the factory and they are trying to sell it as something special. So I passed and now I feel sorry. This is kind of how porter ale was invented someone burnt the kettle of beer and now its all the rage. I hope I will get another shot at trying this stuff.

If I understand the product that is being offered, it is not so much that a mistake was made and somebody burned a batch—it’s just that the trimmings from the heated pressings of regular blends have been packaged as a separate products.

@ theironmonkey Thankyou for clarifying. I understand this now but at the time I was scratching my head about it.
I'm glad it was all intentional.

Excellent review! It reminded me that I have some 1792 Flake Burnt Ends that I still need to find a knife sharp enough to shave off a smokable portion of. I always thought plugs were the ultimate form of long-term tobacco preservation, but if a plug was a steak then burnt ends would be jerky. Based on the look and smell of the burnt ends I'm pretty sure you could skip jarring it entirely and just leave it sitting out exposed to the elements in a barn somewhere and it would still be perfectly smokable in 100 years time.

Whether or not you'll actually want to smoke it, that's yet to be determined. 😅
