Burning Pipe Tobacco for Aroma

I cannot appreciate the true aroma from the tobacco that I am smoking. Yes, I can smell the burning tobacco, but not in the same way someone else can smell the aroma coming from my pipe, as I smoke it.
Is there a way to burn a pinch of tobacco....without smoking it in a pipe....so that the true aroma from the tobacco can be enjoyed. I am not even sure if I am being clear. I want to smell my tobacco as others would smell it, but, without smoking it.
Is there a way to light a small amount of tobacco, and keep it smoldering....like incense?

Dry it well, put it on a plate, tilt the plate slightly, and set it ablaze.

Get another pipe smoker in the house so when they smoke a bowl and you can just enjoy the lingering aroma.

My father used to put Captain Black in my moms potpourri pot and it worked great. He never smoked a pipe but always loved the aroma. He did this all the time and I have to say, it was a brilliant idea, it made our house smell like a Tinder Box. I don’t know how he did it but I think he added a little water to it.

Hahaha! I'm kind of wanting to do it as well now that we are talking about it. Doesn't make for a good smoke but it makes a good potpourri! Lol.

Actually, it smokes pretty good, but a good smoking blend for a potpourri dish is Crooner.

NYC has been in the grips of a freezing week of bitterly cold weather. Not great for this pipe smoker! Can't smoke in the house...I loathe the smell of stale tobacco smoke in a house....so I usually repair to the drawing room (read: back deck) for a quickie. Too friggin' cold for that too. So, I'm forced to sit in my car, with the heater blasting. It is there that I can sit in peace and smoke my brains out.
Just came in from a below 20 degree Ford Taurus vacation, and my clothes and I reek like a smoked side of bacon! What can I do? I guy's gotta smoke where he can these days. But I did get a chance to fumigate myself with my own tobacco blend. In such close quarters, and so little fresh air....meh!
Now, I feel a little buzzed, and slightly queasy. Time for a cup of coffee and a chocolate doughnut. I'm felling better already. ))

perhaps buy a package of charcoal discs that are used for hookas or burning incense or casting spells and set it ablaze with the tobacco of your choice.

I don't even burn it. Sometimes I'll use one of these for drying my tobacco out, usually with a very wet aromatic. But I'll add a bit to a flat bottomed coffee filter and put it on my coffee cup warmer (just like the one pictured) and it will make the room smell absolutely lovely.

I never thought of using those charcoal discs. Great idea. I'll burn some of my favorite tobacco blends, like incense, on top of these charcoal discs.
New York City is filled with Voodo shops, Santeria/Botanica shops, and God knows what else. I've seen those discs for sale.

Thanks. For drying out tobacco it's more precise than using the microwave. It takes a little longer, but while it's drying I'll keep it nearby and just reach over and check it every few minutes while using the computer.

I smoke a pipe, and sometimes just like having the smell inside without committing to a bowl. I have a mini cast iron pan for melting butter, branded Bass Pro. Add a tiny bit of lighter fluid to a small mound of pipe tobacco, let the flame burn a bit to heat it up, and then blow it out. The smoke won’t last like an incense stick, but it does the trick!
