When I smoked Epiphany I couldn't taste the lat at all. I got more burley than anything. It's a good blend, but the lat is lost in the blend(at least for me it was) I can't say Billy Budd is similar because the latakia is very apparent in that blend, unlike Epiphany.

Ordered an ounce of: Bald headed teacher, dark and stormy, billy bud and odessa. I was digging around in some C&D tins i had and there was some Crowley's Best. Burly, Lat and Perique, First bowl was burley and lat, second was perique and burley dominant. I think I will be adding Crowley's in more quantity after a few more bowls. I think the rest should be here shortly.

I've almost finished the 2oz of Epiphany I bought to try. I have to say the more I smoked it the more I found myself looking forward to another bowl. It looks as if I found yet another C&D blend to cellar. :)

C&D nonaromatic burleys are really almost in a class by themselves. Even with Latakia, they are

not really English, to my taste; they are a separate category, and so good. Don't get me wrong,

I love a good English -- Nat Sherman 536, Nightcap, MM965, Fox and Hound, and so many others.

But C&D nonaromatic burleys open a whole new vista.

I really like man's best friend by sutliff. Lat - burley - Va with a light hint of rum. Good stuff. I keep it on hand in case the world ends. I don't want to be with out while fighting zombies/aliens/robots/feminists or whatever destroys modern civilization

I've been enjoying a sample of St Johns by the Owl Shop.

Since I finished the tin of Epiphany I've been on a American "English" kick. I cracked a tin of C&D's Morley's Best and really have been enjoying it. I'll definitely order a lot more of this. When I finish with this tin, I'm going to move on to the tin of Junkyard Dawg that I have.
I want to order some Crowley's Best and Spillman Mixture to try those as well.

Morleys is burley with a touch of lat, odessa is the next step up with more lat but burley up front, and Crowleys is more like a fight between lat and burley. It varies on bowls but the lat wins most times.
I also have some mans best friend. It is always a bit weird when the lat tastes like berries in some blends. That is how it is in Epiphany for me.

Some one drop shipped me 8oz of Sutliff No 5 blend and 8 of Revelation match. I bought an ounce of revelation match when I started a few years ago. It didn't do anything for me when i started. I left it jarred for a year and came back to it and went through the ounce in a week. I never got around to getting more. I hope the magic can happen again.
