Which do you prefer and what is the difference between the two? As a rule, I like the Dublin or a similar conical shape. Lately I've been gravitating towards these two and just wanting a little insight, I know it's all up to the smoker as to what is the best smokie for said smoker just a little curious as to what others think.

Just got one of these as an unsmoked estate pipe off EBay. It's smaller than I thought it would be (I have a Moonshine POTY and a Cannonball) and has a tapered stem instead of the saddle. Good smoking pipe, just wish it was a bit bigger.
I know what you mean on the size.
That being said, they are just a nice nosewarmer size and great design. I love mine, Brown Blast, saddle tortoise stem.

Of the two, I prefer bulldog, but I'm not a big fan of either shape. I have a Peterson acrylic fishtail spigot bent bulldog (80s) and it's one of the few iterations of bulldog where I actually like the shape (aesthetically).

This one specifically is the one I have (though this was when it was new):

Most bulldogs/rhodesian though, I don't care for, they bend too sharp at the carved lines for my taste, or otherwise have various weird bowl shapings.

I prefer a straight bulldog over almost any pipe. Only shape in my collection that I've bought more of is the straight Billiard. I'll buy a Rhodesian if I find a good deal on a maker I like but for the same price and availability I'd chose bulldog every time.

I've seen those Devil Dogs, and have a Moonshine Devil Anse as well as Hillbilly and love them both for their small nose warmer size, but I've never really been tempted to get a devil dog.

Three of the first four pipes I bought were Bulldogs; two bent and one straight. Didn't even realize I was gravitating to a shape. I do like the squared shank over the round shank of the Rhody. I got a couple other Bulldogs since then, so I'd say I have more Bulldogs than any other shape.

The bulldog tends to be more aesthetically pleasing...in ways, but the rhodesian has a couple things going for it: 1a) they tend to have more wood at the bottom of the bowl, which I like in a pipe 1b) have a more robust/hardy look to them. More working class, if you will 2) feel better in the hand. I don't tend to like how bulldogs feel in hand.
