Greetings fellow puffers!

I was curious what you could recommend for a good bulk English blend. I’ve been sampling some lighter English blends like Mccelland AM; found it a little too light on flavour. I’m not looking for Lat bombs, but a good all around bulk English with some great flavour that is affordable to cellar and a drool everytime I start a bowl.

Suggestions?

I chose Balkan Supreme for a full flavoured Balkan style English bulk to stock up on. Father Dempsey is also quite good but lighter in flavour if that’s what you’re looking for. If it’s something you’re going to buy a lot of, probably a good idea to get a bunch of 1oz samplers and go to town.

Oh, 100%, the idea is to same a few options and then decide what to cellar. I’m looking for a middle ground flavour strength in that I don’t want to have to look for the taste but don’t want to be knocked on my ass either where I can’t enjoy it frequently.

Thats been hard for me to judge in my 10 months of trying this, because the palate changes so much in the first couple of years, as mso says above. What was strong for me early on became less so later. But also, what was too subtle for me to enjoy early became enjoyable later. And I’m not settled yet either.

Well, you’re not wrong. Not to mention smoking a blend once isn’t enough as I have found out first hand. Mccellands AM got mighty sweet on me after a couple bowls.

I guess I just need a good starting point. I really want to try SPC Plum Pudding but jeez it isn’t cheap and doesn’t come as bulk.

Balkan Supreme is right there. I could smoke it all day. More of an Oriental forward blend.

Peter Stokkebye Proper English is an excellent medium English. Arango/Balkan Supreme is fantastic. BS is more oriental forward while PE is more lat forward. I have several pounds of both.
