I think any pipe or tobacco that gets too much of a "bad mouth" gains a certain allure. I don't think having a Brylon on the rack, or maybe in the drawer, is a bad thing. As pointed out, they are waterproof and durable and might have their uses over time. I just feel badly if that is a person's introduction to pipe smoking. It's kind of a less pleasing way to start. A Dr. Grabow or a cob will do the job at a low price. Save the Brylon experience for stocking your tackle box or back country pickup.
