The stems are horn so there is some light streaks on them, I picked two that had the darkest stems. One is very glossy but the other is much duller, I'll leave them as is, a nice contrast on the rack.
MSO, you and I have very similar tastes, at least when it comes to our love of French Pipes. Their overall small size, and generally low cost, makes them a winner in my books. What would be your favorite shape / design by some French Manufacturers? Personally, I love the prince / apple shapes and dabble with the billiard / lumberman designs. I have also been tempted, though I have not pulled the trigger, to buy a Genod long shanked acorn. That too me is a very traditional French shape.French pipes are about the best pipes going at their prices, and inspired most of the classic English shapes. The French have a great sense of design in their factory pipes.
