HypeI found this after a quick search: Samuel Gawith Brown Sugar Flake - https://sutliffdistribution.com/samuel-gawith-brown-sugar-flake/
Looks like an April 11th release date.
I had the same experience at first, even traded a tin. But months later I really started liking it.Apparently Watch City Cigar is expecting some soon, as reported in another forum. When I heard that I decided to try some that had been aging in my cellar for ~7 years. The tin seal showed some corrosion but it had a satisfying whoosh when opened, the tobacco was moist as per normal for SG. Dried it before smoking, it was good, not fabulous, burned very hot and still had harsh elements. Maybe it's past the peak. I have another unopened tin and based on this sample I'll be passing on the upcoming drop.
I might come to like it as I work through this tin, that's why I'm going to keep the remaining tin. For now, it rates a 2 -- smoke to finish the tin but don't purchase more.I had the same experience at first, even traded a tin. But months later I really started liking it.
The Danish Pipe Shop must have lost their exclusive rights to sell it. Can’t think why else it would become available. For a short while Gawith Hoggarth sold ‘Demerara Flake’ here in England, after the BSF got pulled. That didn’t last long either. Is it a limited run? Last time they did this, they had to stop immediately because it was an exclusive offer with The Danish Pipe Shop. Wonder what changed. I do like this one, it took awhile to grow on me. I originally ordered it from DPS, was $60 for two tins way back then, probably be more like a $100 now. I will definitely buy a few tins when it hits.
No word on whether or not it will be imported again after this run but I wouldn't be surprised if it came in again in 2024.I just don't like these limited edition runs of tobacco,
