First rope, very tasty. I found that there is a learning curve to twists. This particular one needs to rubbed out a wee bit more for the second bowl. Numerous relights were required but . . . it just got better and better!
"Brown Irish Twist" just might make it into the regular rotation.

Gawith Hoggarth Cherry Twist. I like the flavor, it is very earthy. I would smoke it more if I could keep it lit better.

It just seems to get better and better. The first bowl was not that well separated and needed more than a relight or two. That was the learning curve I referred to, rub it out well.
It is a lively smoke. The nicotine is definitely there, so I smoke it slowly. It's a reliable smoke from bowl to bowl as the spinning produced a fairly even dispersal of the various tobaccos, at least to my taste. Some complain of the nicotine level. I'm not one of those. If you're looking for a decent hit of nicotine, I believe you will enjoy it. For me this is especially with wee bit of a good Madeira or Port after a robust meal. To me it was a very different experience to smoke a tobacco in the early stage of preparation, no pressing or cooking as I understand it.
I've read that it's good for a chaw also. I don't chew anymore so I have no first hand experience. I . . . just might give it a taste though. A tantalizing idea I believe.

Gawith sweet coconut twist. Doesn't taste like you think it would, just a tad sweet, cool and strong.

Garwith Hoggarth Coconut Twist is a really good smoke also. A very pronounced tobacco taste, and high in vitamin N.

Hmm, I was planning on an unflavored rope, but cherry and coconut seem popular. They dont smoke like an aromatic, do they? I dont mind aros, but that wasnt what I was looking for in a rope.
Warren, glad to hear you enjoy em. I can handle a nic hit. On another (older) thread Bob compared ropes to Joya de Nicaragua antaño cigars... "strong as balls"

Gray,
Try the Brown Twist first. It is all tobacco flavor goodness. The Irish X is good, but it will flavor your pipe something fierce. The taste is kind of like left over campfire ashes.
Another one to look for is Brown Bogie. This is the twist but already sliced up into coins. Very good and has the same N level as the Brown Twist.
