Hello all,

I recently enharited a collection of antique pipes pictured below. Unfortunately one of the acrylic stems on the Turkish pipes broke. Is there any source of replacement stems? Also, whats my best path forward cleaning and using these old pipes?

Thanks for any help!

Stems are individually fitted to each pipe, so it's generally not possible to get a generic replacement. There are pipe repair services which may be able to help. Occasionally sellers on Ebay offer groups of stems, but the chances of a match are not that great.

It's also possible that the meerschaums actually have amber stems, though the quality of the carving is not such that it seems likely.

If you want to tackle this yourself, get a good reamer such as the Pip net and some micromesh sanding pads, alcohol pipe sweetener and a lot of pipe cleaners.

The bear themed pipes are interesting and I can make out at least one GBD which might be worth some effort.

That's straight GBD billiard would be a good pipe. Is that a number 135? The GBD 135 is one of my favorite pipe shapes, I have 4 of them and they all smoke great, especially Virginia flakes!

To some extent you actually can buy replacement stems for meerschaum pipes. But not all of them, a picture of the broken pipe/stem would help. Does it have a delrin link tenon or a bone tenon?
