My condolences friend. He sounds like a remarkable person and I’m sure he’s been a mentoring and friend to many of you here. My deepest sympathies to all of you that feel the loss. Especially his family And close friends.

Just wanted to drop a note here. I was deep in the cellar today and came across a jar of Murray's production EMP from a pound that Vernon was kind enough to sell me ages ago at an NYPC meeting. I cracked it this afternoon. It's held up very well and not only was it an excellent (and nostalgic) smoke, but an opportunity to remember Vernon and how much I enjoyed his company. I was sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to family and friends.

My uncle Vernon passed away this morning. Many of you knew him from the New York pipe club or a president of the UPCA. He was knowledgeable and passionate about pipes. I know several in here have told me he was a mentor. I know he was to me. He will be sorely missed. I'll write more later. I just got the news and knew others would want to know.
