I just heard that German pipe legend Peter Heinrichs has died. RIP.

My cellar has some older examples of his "paint can" tins of Special Curly, Dark Strong, Special Golden Sliced and No 15.
I shall open one in his honour.

Peter was a fine man and if you haven't tried his Dark Strong you are missing something special.

That was another sad day in the pipe community. He's a legend. I definitely smoked some more Dark Strong in memory. One of the greatest tobaccos ever blended.
