Broken Pipe Frank Burla

Sad to report that Frank Burla passed away. Frank was the force behind the Chicagoland International Pipe and Tobacciana Show. He was a tireless promoter of The Big Show and he will be missed.
I knew Frank since the early nineties and always enjoyed visiting with him at various shows across the country, at a few club meetings I was able to attend as well as his show but my most memorable times were with him at his Museum. He was a generous host who made even a young collector feel very welcome. I will miss him very much. RIP

No matter how much pressure he was experiencing running the Chicago show for all those years, he was always pleasant and helpful and a true gentleman during the show. RIP

Frank was a friend for nearly 30 years. We shared many a bowl and cigar at our Chicagoland Pipe Collectors Club meetings, of which he was one of the founders. He was the legendary organizer of the Chicago Show for decades. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
May his memory be eternal.
