Well done! I can't help but wonder... do you think the stem is original? From the early pics it looks like vulcanite. If I am not mistaken Ascorti only used lucite. Maybe somone else knows for sure. Either way, you turned a sow's ear into a silk purse. Congrats! puffy

The previous owner was a slob. That's a beautiful restoration of what was and now is a handsome pipe. I think the stain and refinished brim have just the right touch, with the pipe's original good lines accentuated well. I bet that will be a fine smoking pipe for years to come.
