Anyone ever seen such a creature before? Any information to share?

A quick Google search shows an Italian pipe maker but I’m not sure it’s the same maker. This one screams art deco era but appears unsmoked. I was intrigued so I bought it. The twin bore stem isn’t particularly tight and seems a tad unsecure to me but otherwise seems to be sound. Very odd design.

Never saw one but that’s awesome.
More side by side barrels than twin bore.
Yes, I think you nailed it. It’s definitely got the side by side shotgun vibe going on. I’m not sure how practical it is, but the original design just caught my attention. Strange looking pipe, I’ll give it that.

Interesting. Looks like it might be a little heavy with the two airways, but maybe not. I wonder if it predates the pipes bored with two airways in a single shank and stem. I have one of those made by Britannia within the last few decades.

It’s certainly a strange way to craft a pipe. A lot of stem, wide shank, two mortises to drill (and clean!). For some reason it strikes me as a rather steampunk way of making a pipe. Form follows fashion and what’s this so-called function thing about then…?
