Pruss, It might be that the pipe is in fact a 'lemon' as you put it. All I am saying is that my personal experience with each Brigham I have purchased, is that every one of them including the Chinook, have had draw issues. I have managed to repair the draw issues I had with my Brighams and they smoke fine NOW that I have fixed them with or without the maple inserts. And because of that I won't buy another one.

The Brighams I've got are all straighter stemmed (1/4 bent) and they pass cleaners and have ok draws.
As a matter of fact my 2 dot shape 29 is probably my favorite pipe...mixed grain, fills and all. There is some awesome Birdseye on part of one side.

Chris, I don't doubt your experience, your assertions nor do I discount your determination. In the same situation, I'd be making the same call.

FWIW to the original poster; I think that Pruss is the paramount Brigham expert. He has always provided wise advise to myself and all forum members.

I just finished a bowl of Gaslight in my Chinook and it was an awesome smoke!

Pat, :worship: I really dig this John Calich but I will have to keep counting my pennies, lots of pennies, before I jump.

Please, other forum members: You don't want this pipe. You will not enjoy smoking it. You will not be happy with it.

THAT... Lads; is a helluva pipe.
It is probably the finest example of his work that I've seen. The fact that it comes with an original letter from John to the buyer is just icing on the cake.

PS - Glukler if this pipe sells in the next 24 hours I'll take a hefty discount on that Parks bulldog as commission.
