My local place .. an hour away ... is Emmerson Cigars. They have a nice selection of pipes tins and bulk. There bulk are custom blends and for my taste their are only a few I like. One being my favorite that I make the drive for.
I have though priced them against smokingpipes and they are literally only a few dollars more one any given item.
The manager even VOLUNTARILY polished my refound zippo lighter that had another "out of town" tobacconist logo on it. Awesome!!

In no way did I take your comments personally. I was just trying to partially explain how mom and pop retail works and what goes into deciding a price onto any commodity sold in that environment.

$7.59 on line for Mac Barn Vanilla Flake goes for around $15 in California. The tax sucks but I buy from them from time to time just to support them.
