I'm a big fan of Smokemaster pipes. I don't know why, just am. I recently acquired some, but don't know if they are made by Dr.Grabow, or Briarcraft. I know Grabow bought the smokemaster name and designs in the 60s but I'm not sure how old these are to figure out who made them. I can't find much info out there on amokemasters either. They say "BARD" on them. I know Grabow made series 100 200 and 300, but does anyone know if Grabow contiued making the ones that said "bard" at first before making the 100 200 and 300s?

You probably read the entry in Pipedia.
In 1967 Dr. Grabow bought the rights to the name and the system, and began producing Smokemasters in three lines, stamped 100, 200 and 300. These pipes had a red diamond logo on the stem.
So if yours has the numeric stamp and the red diamond logo on the stem, it's probably a post 1967 pipe. I think I may have one or two Smokemasters around here someplace.....

Couldn't get the photos to work. I am technologically challenged. But I think colorduke answered my question. If it's made in Sparta, I'm guessing it's Grabow made since Grabows are from there. Thanks for all yall's help!

Just a small clarification to avoid possible confusion...the diamond logo is actually orange; Grabow used the same orange material for the Smokemaster diamond trademark (and alos for the logo on Sparta-made LL Bean pipes) as they did for Westbrook.
